At Ashton House we try to provide the quality and comfort you'd expect from a quality hotel at the price you'd expect from a family bed and breakfast. If you'd like a quote then simply send a booking request from the booking and contact form and we will get back to as soon as we can.

Rooms and facilities

Ashton House is a large purpose built guest house with 3 family rooms, 3 double rooms and 5 twin rooms. All of our rooms are en-suite and have a television and tea/coffee facilities in the room. They are also all non-smoking.

Breakfast is included as standard and you may select from an Irish or continental style breakfast as suits you each morning.

We have wireless broadband facilities for those who wish to use a laptop for email or internet access. Simply ask for a security key if you desire access.

Standard rates and bookings

Our prices range between €30 to €40 per person sharing but please be aware that seasonal variations also apply. Simply click on our booking and contact link to get a quote or make a reservation.

All bookings must be confirmed with a credit card. Cancellations must be made at least 3 days prior to the start of your stay. Any late cancellations or "no shows" will be charged for the first night's stay.

Directions and maps

As one of Ireland's most popular destinations Galway is well connected via road, rail and air. We can be reached from the main bus and train station by local bus routes (routes and times available at the station) or a 5 minute taxi ride.

For car owners, we not only have parking facilities out front and are easy to find. We recommend you use google maps to plan your trip more completely but we also have the following directions to help.

Local directions

  1. When you arrive in Galway, at the main roundabout simply follow signs towards "Clifden" and the "west"
  2. Continue following these signs until you cross the River Corrib on the large, dual carriageway, Millenium Bridge
  3. On the far side of the bridge you will reach a set of traffic lights. Go straight through these lights to the next roundabout.
  4. Take the third exit from this roundabout (straight on), past the petrol station to another set of lights.
  5. Straight on again to another set of lights and straight through these to the last roundabout.
  6. At this roundabout take the first exit (left) and then turn right
  7. We are 100 yards further up on your left
